Do Narcissists Change After Prison? The Harsh Reality

Not really, even prison doesn’t change them. They typical come out of jail or prison angrier or more unstable than they were before they went in. You have to understand that they were a narcissist before they went to jail just like a person who has mental illness who goes into a mental institution due to their condition or behavior. Going to the psychiatrist or being admitted into a mental institution does not take away the fact that the person has a mental disorder. They’re discharged with the same diagnosis. This is the same for someone has NPD narcissistic personality disorder. Narcissists do not regret their action when it ends them in jail or legal problems. It only gives them ammunition to blame shift and point the finger at someone else for the reason of why they landed in jail.

They tend to move into their typical behaviors of blame shifting, guilt tripping, and deflection. They will blame shift and make statements that imply that you or the other person was the problem. Jail only temporary stall their abusive and manipulative behavior towards their victims, though some still continue with the emotional abuse and manipulation in a confined environment. If they do regret, the regret is associated to what they could have done differently to have not landed them in jail, and less about how they can make the necessary change to become a better…
