A narcissist is never worried or concerned about what you’re doing or if you have moved on with someone else when they disappear, and when they reappear. They have conditioned victims to wait for them and take them back, no questions asked. Narcissists and emotional abusers are very confident you will take them back. They recycle their victims like plastic containers, products, and supply. This is part of the narcissistic abuse cycle.
They always do things with a motive; there is an underlying motive as to why they are returning. Narcissists are emotionally unavailable, so they do not want you back because they missed you. They may have missed what you had to offer, but not you as a person. They never live up to their words unless it’s going to benefit them in some way. You didn’t exist to them until they decided to reappear, and this is due to what they want or need from you. This is a key aspect of narcissist hoovering.
They normally want you back if they have been discarded by the new supply, needing a place to live or stay (needing food and shelter). They could be wanting sex, money, attention, validation. They also could be…
