From Protoanalysis to Personality Typology: The Evolution of the Enneagram

Despite the fact that there are indications of themes that may be linked to it as far back as ancient Greek with Pythagora and as far back as the Ennead in ancient Egypt, the Enneagram as a personality typology system is much more contemporary. Ancient Greece was the home of Pythagoras, whereas ancient Egypt was the location of the Ennead.

Oscar Ichazo, a 953 ENTP who happened to be a magnificent example of intellectual 9 lost in propagation, is theoretically regarded to be the inventor of the Enneagram as a typology system. This is because Oscar Ichazo was a person who was lost in propagation. In spite of the fact that Ichazo’s idea was first referred to as Protoanalysis, the Enneagram was initially conceived of as a typology system.

Claudio Benjamin Naranjo, who is a 549 INTP, came up with the moniker “Enneagram of Personality” in order to avoid infringing upon Ichazo’s copyright. This was done in order to avoid a potential legal dispute. It was Naranjo who was responsible for providing the psychological characteristics of the types, and I would want to highlight that Ichazo was not the one who first came up with the Enneagram subtypes.

Naranjo is the origin of every instinctual subtype that has ever been discovered. Specifically, Naranjo and Katherine Fauvre each co-hosted a training session that verified the earlier studies that they had undertaken in the process. This activity was carried out in the context of the process.
