Learn to observe the world and take action, rather than getting lost in endless self-reflection
Get your head out of your ass.
For some mysterious reason, we think that’s the way to go. Look within. Search deep in your thoughts and psyche, prospecting for the glimpse of an interest.
But see, the more we indulge in self-reflection, the more it turns into vicious rumination. The inner voice yelling our life calling might be down there, but on top of it, fears and social pressures and doubts flattens it against the bottom.
Introspection is a rigged game, like the claw machine. You end up overpaying for what you get, and it’s rarely the toy you wanted.
Leonardo da Vinci was a driven mess
Back in his time, there was no Instagram and Pinterest where you could publish your art and get recognition. Even paper was a rare thing, rarer than education–which he didn’t receive–but his father was an accountant, so there was a surplus of sketching material for him to steal, then wander off to the forest and observe how flowers blossomed.
Thanks to this, Leonardo became an outstandingly good painter. He could’ve made a comfortable…
