The Impact of Losing Narcissistic Supply on a Narcissist’s Ego

There are a few things that would devastate a narcissist such as exposure, humiliation, being told no, and running out of supply.

• Narcissists are unable to tolerate failure of any sort and public humiliation is considered the worst type of failure that could happen. A narcissist’s ego is an extremely fragile thing. So, when they feel they are being laughed at, losing the respect/control of others; does not sit well with them at all. They certainly don’t want to be criticized, humiliated, or called out for anything concerning their behavior.
• As hard as it is for people high in narcissism to accept criticism, it’s even more difficult for them to take “no” for an answer. They are so use to having their way, manipulating others, and exercising self-entitlement. So, when someone tells them no, it will surely cause a devastating impact to their ego, because they’re use to you or others bending to their rules, wants, or desires.
• The narcissist constantly consumes gratification, adoration, admiration, approval, validation, attention, self-satisfaction, and other forms of narcissistic supply so when there is a lack or deficiency is when they get very worried, and anxious as a baby wanting their pacy or a warm bottle.
