The Narcissist’s Achilles Heel: Why Criticism Triggers Rage and Retaliation
In response to criticism, they have an extremely negative reaction.
Even statements that are not intended to be critical might be interpreted as criticism, at least by the hidden narrator. They are unable to tolerate it. If you were to speak the words “no one is perfect” to a covert narcissist, you would see that their face would become white or crimson. If you want to avoid this, you should find a way to conceal yourself. It is this individual who will respond with the phrase “of course not — BUT…” And then proceed to go on and on about how you are completely wrong for even considering the possibility that the narrator was a member of that specific group of individuals who are not perfect.

The narcissist is going to have a very tough time dealing with this situation, and the person or persons who try to criticize the narcissist will have to face the consequences of their actions. This is something that the narc will not sit idly by, and it will not be forgotten. A memory as big as an elephant is possessed by the narc. Never forgives and never forgets what happened.
