The Narcissist’s Blind Spot: Understanding Their Lack of Empathy

They narcissist can never perceive the depth and severity of hurt they’ve caused you. They will forever trivialize what they’ve done to you.

Something is very wrong with narcissists.

You are not really human to them.

They cannot process your emotional responses. Their idea of what’s human has 10% of your emotions and 9% of your cognition. You are too over the top to be human. You have 1000% more emotions and think 1100% more about their abuses and misdemeanour than they can comprehend anyone would or would want to.

They end up treating you like you have BPD and pathologize your natural spectrum of emotional and cognitive reactions.

Your reactions to their antagonisms, belligerence, unconscionable conduct, unrepentance puzzles them. To them

• You are hypersensitive.
• You get hurt too easily.
• Your emotional reactions to things and situations are too over the top, you are too reactive to trivial things.
• You misperceive everything I say as targeting or insulting you.
• You take things too personally.
• You can’t get over things.
• You over it already! Move on!
