The use of silence is used in order to exert influence over you.

The narcissist places a high priority on maintaining complete control over the silent treatment in all of its facets. In the event if you are able to screw with the premise, the silent treatment will not be seen as successful. When the narc stops talking, you will need to beg him or her to pick up the phone or reply to your efforts to connect with them when they go quiet.

The narcissist will take great pleasure in your efforts to make touch with them.

It is not uncommon for the narcissist to block and unblock their victims throughout the silent treatment. Additionally, it is not uncommon for them to block and then unblock another time. To the extent that it was conceivable, they would have switched you on and off like a light bulb. Specifically, this is due to the fact that your efforts to make touch during the time of silence provides the cruel narcissist with a plenty of fuel.
