Who Was Al-Ghazali?

Al-Ghazali was born in 1058 CE in a small town called Tus, located in present-day Iran. His full name, Abu Hamid Muhammad ibn Muhammad al-Ghazali, reflects his prominence in the Islamic world.

From a young age, Al-Ghazali was brilliant and curious. He was the kind of child who didn’t just ask why but also how. This curiosity drove him to study a wide range of subjects, including religion, philosophy, law, and logic.

The Early Years: A Passion for Learning

Al-Ghazali didn’t have an easy start in life. His father, though deeply spiritual, passed away when Al-Ghazali was still a child. Despite this, his father’s dying wish was for his sons to receive a good education.
