When Narcissists Leave: Is It Ever Final?
When the narcissist finally decides to part ways with you, they are likely to be unaware of who they are.
In the process of discarding, there is no such thing as the last step. One of the factors that will decide the result of the discard phase is the conditions that the NPD is facing in the new setting.
When the narc decides to part ways with you for the last time, it is because they believe that the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. When the New York Police Department leaves their present “station,” not only do they not know this for certain, but they also throw you out in order to try out the new opportunity.
That which is favorable for the narcissist is not just determined by the narcissist’s financial status and the rewards that materialize. Both the person they have rejected you for and the capacity of the NPD to regulate the new environment in a satisfying manner might play a significant role in determining the outcome. The new setting will be the determining factor in the NPD’s immediate future. In the beginning, let’s assume that he finds the new crib to be more appealing.
After a significant amount of time has passed, the narcissist can make an effort to return to previous territory. Ten or twenty years is not an uncommon age. The victims of narcissists are considered to be “people on hold” until the victim is able to effectively go “NO CONTACT.”
The only way to know for certain that it is final is if you make the declaration that it is.
