Why It’s Impossible to Help a Narcissist Change

The fundamental essence of narcissism itself makes it impossible for narcissists to see they are the source of the issue; this is also the reason they lack drive to change.

The identity of a full narcissist is based on a weak basis depending on the approval and control they provide to people from the outside. The premise upon which the narcissist develops his identity is this one.

Should they confess that they are the cause, it would mean that they would have to face this illusion — akin to thrusting a narcissist into a blank vacuum.

First of all, let me make one obvious point: narcissists do not share our reality.

Though they only see the things they want to see, the pictures reflected in their brain like a hall of mirrors.

If you have built your identity on the belief that you are superior, perfect, and entitled to certain things, it might be difficult to see your shortcomings.

Even the smallest sign of personal imperfection runs the danger of destroying the very picture people rely on to feel complete. This is so because individuals are prone to experience this manner.

This psychological defense system helps them to stay secure within their own environment, but it leaves a path of damage in the life of every other person they interact with.
