Why Narcissists Can Keep Their Jobs Despite the Chaos They Create

Yes, the same way they are able to keep and manage most of their narcissistic supply. They’re able to keep a job due to their superior complex, self-assurance, people skills, manipulation, and the host of other targets for them to dominate, control, bully, and humiliate.

A job is playground for narcissists to sabotage the work of others, find excuses to waste other peoples’ time and resources, and spreading rumors. A job is the perfect place for a narcissist to climb the corporate ladder to charm and gain trust from others as a way to inflict sabotage. Narcissists in the workplace like to manufacture triangulation where they appear to be innocent, concerned about you so that they can pass along false or misleading information about to make you look bad or ruin your reputation. This feeds their fragile egos, and keeps their minds occupied.

Narcissists at work create a very toxic and unproductive work environment the same way they would at home. They keep their jobs because it offers them more opportunities to use, abuse, misled, and manipulate others. It also gives them power and control, depending on their position. The other narcissistic supply they gain from having a job is money, and we all need money as a way to survive.
