Why Narcissists Can’t Build or Shift Their Paradigms

Narcissists do not experience paradigm shifts.

‘Getting over things’ is another way of saying ‘experience a paradigm shift’.

So there is nothing to get over, there is no paradigm to shift.

Why?

Narcissists don’t really have paradigms.

What’s a paradigm?

A paradigm is a pattern that attempts to predict reality. We pattern match things to achieve results. Our weather forecasts rely on having correct climate models. Those models are paradigms.

For example, when the narcissist lovebombed you, and fooled you to believe they were the most decent and loving thing that ever existed, they were messing with your paradigm, with your pattern recognition of reality. They fit the pattern match of the perfect match.

Then they abused you and revealed their true meanness.

And then you had to ‘get over it’ because you had to ‘shift your paradigm’ from that of the loving decent person to that of the truly mean person. Your reality was going crazy. You needed to shift your paradigm to get over it before you went crazy.

When you have no paradigm, there is nothing to shift.
